COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to follow organisational infection prevention and control procedures, including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks. This unit applies to individuals working in health and direct client care contexts.
COURSE DURATION AND MODE OF DELIVERY
25 hours consisting of online training and assessment and workplace practical demonstration and observation.

There are no pre-requisites to undertake this unit
COURSE
CONTENT
This course will provide participants with skills and knowledge in the following areas:

Follow standard and additional precautions for infection prevention and control

Identify infection hazards and assess risks
-
Follow procedures for managing risks associated with specific hazards
OUTCOMES
Participants who successfully complete this unit will receive a statement of attainment for HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures.

Statements of attainment are issued electronically within 5 business days after successful completion of the training.
PRE-COURSE LEARNING
All pre-course learning material is available online via our LMS. Participants must have access to a computer, phone, tablet etc with access to the internet to complete the pre-course online learning materials and assessment.
Participants must have completed the pre-course learning materials and assessment before attending practical training sessions.
Participants who have not completed the online learning competent will not be issued with a statement of attainment until such time as they have completed the online component.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students must be 18 years or over.

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)
Every student requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to obtain a certificate or qualification from their registered training organisation when studying a nationally recognised training course in Australia.

A USI gives you access to an online account which keeps all your training records together, even if you move locations, change training organisations or undertake studies at different times in your life.
When booking your course, you are required to provide Australian Community and Management College with your USI either via the section on your enrolment form or in person on the day of the course.
